Notes

Storage: Cover the finished cake and refrigerate for 3 to 4 days. Keep it chilled because of the whipped topping layer.
Freezing: Freeze the baked and soaked cake without whipped topping for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before finishing.
Best Tips: Pour the condensed milk slowly and let it settle before adding caramel so the cake absorbs the soak evenly.
Chilling Tips: Chill at least 2 hours before slicing. Overnight chilling gives the cleanest squares and the softest caramel texture.
Variations: Try salted caramel, dark chocolate cake mix, chopped toffee bars, or a small sprinkle of pecans for a different finish.
Serving Ideas: Serve cold in small squares with coffee, vanilla ice cream, or a light caramel drizzle for party plates.
